Hingham Public Schools

Hingham has 4 Elemetary Schools: East Elementary, South Elementary, Plymouth River Elementary, and Foster Elementary.  One Middle School and One High School.

South Elementary School's mission is to provide learning experiences that develop those habits and traits necessary to become independent learners. They view each child as a unique individual and learner. They want children to feel good about themselves, to love learning and to behave in socially acceptable ways. In this nurturing atmosphere of caring and trust, each child can develop to his or her potential.

East Elementary School's mission is to provide challenging and comprehensive educational programs in a safe and supportive environment, enabling all students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for success as local and global citizens.

The mission of the Plymouth River School Community, where children are treasured, is to foster a love of learning in an innovative, cooperative climate which empowers all students to be competent, productive, caring and responsible citizens.

Foster Elementary says the core values of their school are woven into the curriculum throughout each child’s school day because they represent what parents and faculty feel is the essence of learning at Foster School. At Foster School their students will:

  • Enjoy the process of learning, constantly striving to meet their potential and become lifelong learners.
  • Be responsible and will demonstrate respect for self, others, and property.
  • Practice critical thinking skills to solve problems.
  • Have a strong sense of community both in and outside of school.

Hingham Middle School must provide all children with a positive learning atmosphere which offers students an opportunity to be challenged to their utmost ability, fosters understanding between diverse people, promotes services to others, and instills a feeling of self worth. Contributions from all members of the Hingham Middle School community are necessary and welcome.
